I am searching to buy a plane currently. My mission is a plane that can haul four adults, fly longer cross country flights and be IFR cert. I’d fly it about 10 hours a week and would get my instrument and commercial and maybe my CFI on it as well as using it for fun flights. I’ve been looking at Beechcraft Bonanza B35s. I don’t want to spend much more than $110,000. Is there any plane that would fit my mission better?
First point about flying clubs/partnerships is that they can be anywhere from amazing to a nightmare depending on the situation. I personally had a very good experience with the father/son partner I had for the 150, but I don’t think I would roll the dice again personally. The right situation can make owning way better… IE better aircraft/less costs. But a bad partner/s can make it WAY worse than owning your own plane outright that maybe isn’t as nice.
Bonanza’s are pretty capable airplanes, I have never flown one so I can’t weigh in too much on that make/model but I have heard a lot of good from people who own them over the years.
There’s a young guy on youtube that flew one around the world as a teenager if I remember correctly Matt Guthmiller. (I may be confusing him with the afraid-of-shot-gun-shells guys who were doing it in a Cessna.) He seems to really like that plane though. From what I have seen, the Bonanza owners usually keep there Bonanzas for a long time.
