I’m working on a future topic for PG and I am trying to figure out what would be the closest to the modern equivalent of the original super cub.
Out of the airplanes that you can place an order for new today…
Is it Cub Crafters Top Cub? Or something else?
I have flown the 150hp Super Cubs, I now own a 90hp Super Cub, and I have flown a Top Cub and a Carbon Cub. I would say the closest to the original is a Top Cub. But, it’s heavy and it’s slow. Closest to embodying the essence of what a Super Cub was designed to be in 1949, but brought into the modern Era is the Carbon Cub. An X Cub is probably closer, but haven’t flown one of those.
X Cub seems like it’s the best iteration of the cub money can buy.
Any Idea what a Top Cub’s Base Price is?
They don’t list the Top here:
I don’t think they’re making the Top Cub anymore. Maybe like some kinda special order thing?
They don’t showcase it on there home page anymore, but if you click on “AIRCRAFT” in any of there menus, it’s still blatantly there as an offering.
